stay wild golden child - sunrise beach maternity session - meet Kylie!

there's generally very little I enjoy more than the sun. that can be anything from the sunrise, sunset, golden rays, just the feel of the sun beating down on my skin can instantly change my mood for the better. however, a sunrise or sunset on the beach? SIGN ME UP! that's why when Kylie agreed to a sunrise session for some rad maternity pictures I was SO pumped! and trust me, the pictures were SO FREAKING WORTH IT!

Kylie is expecting a baby girl just about any day now and I'm so honored she let me capture some special photos for her that I hope will last her a lifetime! I shot Kylie and her husband I think almost a year ago at the coral cove styled shoot (also beach and surfer themed) so she was the literal PERFECT person to help me bring my vision to life! Our session was also the first time I got to try out my super 8 camera (EEK!) and I can't wait to get the film developed to see how it turns out! I just have a feeling that baby Olsen will be on a surfboard and catching waves before any of us know it!

if you know me, you know my saying is - stay wild golden child - and I just felt it fit too perfectly in this context to let it pass up!

so, with all that being said, I've decided that one of things I'm most inspired by is truly the ocean (even though I'm entirely too afraid to go too far into the water - thanks dad for making me watch Jaws when I was 5) I envy those who can surf, it's truly something I've always wanted to be good at but I'm too afraid to even make an attempt. but, (although I still plan on taking sessions of every style and weddings will FOREVER be my jam) I want to take time to also focus on really unique, lifestyle versions of beach sessions. I want my couples to completely embrace themselves at beach sessions, don't be afraid to get a little wet and sandy, you want to wear a bathing suit? even better! those who love the ocean, I want to capture how completely YOU, you are when you're near the water. so! if this sounds remotely like you, let's work together!
